Leather, footwear stocks trade jubilantly on the BSE

Shares of leather and footwear companies are trading with traction on the BSE on hopes of incentive package from the government.

Relaxo Footwears is currently trading at Rs. 611.50, up by 40.40 points or 7.07% from its previous closing of Rs. 571.10 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 572.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 632.55 and Rs. 572.05 respectively. So far 19707 shares were traded on the counter.

Mirza International is currently trading at Rs. 171.60, up by 6.05 points or 3.65% from its previous closing of Rs. 165.55 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 171.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 174.45 and Rs. 170.75 respectively. So far 434040 shares were traded on the counter.

Bata India is currently trading at Rs. 787.50, up by 21.00 points or 2.74% from its previous closing of Rs. 766.50 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 780.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 794.00 and Rs. 780.00 respectively. So far 70581 shares were traded on the counter.

The Union Cabinet is expected to soon take a decision on Rs 2,600 crore incentive package for the labour-intensive leather and footwear sector to boost exports and job creation. The ministry has sought tax incentives for the footwear, leather, and accessories development programme.
