Torrent Power reports 15% rise in Q1 net profit

 Torrent Power has reported unaudited results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The company’s net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 has increased 14.55% at Rs 348.71 crore as compared to Rs 304.41 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Its total income rose 13.30% at Rs 2089.04 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1843.86 crore for the same quarter last year.

On consolidated basis, the Group’s net profit for the quarter has jumped 14.81% at Rs 343.57 crore as compared to Rs 299.24 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010. Its total income has increased by 14.05% at Rs 2098.15 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1839.62 crore for the similar quarter of the previous year.
