NTPC will commence operation at Unit 2 of 800 MW of Kudgi Super Thermal Project (Kudgi STP), Stage-I (3 X 800 MW) with effect from December 31, 2017. With this, the commercial capacity of Kudgi Super Thermal Power Project, NTPC and NTPC group would become 1600 MW, 44492 MW and 51383 MW respectively.
