SBI’s led consortium to give Rs 15,000 crore loan for Purvanchal Expressway: Report

State Bank of India’s (SBI) led consortium is reportedly planning to extend credit of Rs 15,000 crore to Uttar Pradesh government’s first mega infrastructure project -- Purvanchal Expressway.

The proposed 350 km expressway would traverse nine districts in Uttar Pradesh viz. Lucknow, Barabanki, Faizabad, Ambedkarnagar, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur. The total cost of the project is estimated at over Rs 20,000 crore, of which land cost would account for about Rs 7,000 crore.

SBI is the country’s largest lender and it offers a wide range of services in the Personal Banking, Agriculture/ Rural, NRI services, SME and Corporate Banking etc.
