Tata Power climbs higher on the bourses

Tata Power is currently trading at Rs. 97.80, up by 2.30 points or 2.41% from its previous closing of Rs. 95.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 97.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 99.45 and Rs. 97.55 respectively. So far 2, 05,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 133.00 on 05-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 80.65 on 20-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 99.45 and Rs. 91.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 23,208 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.81% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.43% and 16.53% respectively.

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, has organized an environmental awareness program for all its employees at Kalinganagar power plant. The company has taken this step as it has been driving environment awareness and conservation initiatives at its various locations.

All the employees of the plant have participated in the campaign where several initiatives to drive environment consciousness and awareness were organized.  Besides, in order to optimize use of fuel and simultaneously reduce carbon footprint, the employees were encouraged to use car-pooling.
