Country’s largest insurer, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has sold over 2.03% stake worth about Rs 146 crore in Tata Global Beverages thereby reducing its stake in the company to 11.79%. Prior to its sale, LIC held 13.83% stake in the company. The insurer has sold 1.26 crore shares over a period of four months between February 22 to June 27.

Tata Global Beverages formerly Tata Tea is a multinational non-alcoholic beverages company headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, India and a subsidiary of the Tata Group. It is the world's second-largest manufacturer and distributor of tea. Tata Global Beverages markets tea under the major brands Tata Tea, Tetley, Good Earth Teas and JEMCA.
