Hindustan Copper has been conferred with ‘BRPSE Turnaround Awards 2012’ from the Board Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises (BRPSE). The company has received the award for posting profits continuously for three years after its revival.
Hindustan Copper’s principal activities include mining of copper ore, concentration of copper ore into copper concentrate through a beneficiation process and also smelting, refining and extruding of the copper concentrate into refined copper in downstream saleable products.
On standalone basis, the company has posted a rise of 125.40% in its net profit at Rs 137.43 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 60.97 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 94.44% at Rs 622.89 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 320.35 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
