-12.75 (-0.35%) In a bid to forays into the passenger segment in the African country, Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched international range of utility vehicles and pick-ups for the Kenyan market. This comprises XUV500 SUV, the Scorpio SUV and Pick Up range, the Genio Pick-Up and the Maxximo mini-truck.
Further, the company has appointed Simba Corporation as its sole dealer in Kenya. The dealership that will trade under Xylon Motors, will offer entire range of Mahindra’s vehicles and provide complete servicing facilities as well.
The company’s African footprint extends to Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, Sudan and South Africa, where it has a joint venture -- Mahindra South Africa.
Recently, the country’s largest vehicle marker registered 16.12% increase in its sales for June at 41,322 units against 35,584 units in the same month last year. Exports in June this year grew 31% to 2,371 units compared to 1,812 units in the same month last year.
