Bharti Airtel bestowed with EuroFinance Treasury award

Bharti Airtel has been bestowed with EuroFinance Treasury award for implementing its treasury architecture software integrating operations across 20 nations and swift work on managing debt of around $13 billion.

Treasury architecture is the company's software for managing funds. From over 50 lenders across over 100 facilities in Asia and Africa, Bharti Airtel has been managing funds through its centralised treasury architecture.

During 2010, in order to acquire African Telecom Company Zain, Bharti Airtel had taken a loan of $10.70 billion. The company has reported net debt of $12.70 billion, as of March 31, 2012. To fund its Africa business, the company has recently taken a short-term loan of $150 million through its Singapore subsidiary.
