HDFC Bank gains momentum on reporting strong Q1 numbers

HDFC Bank is currently trading at Rs 585.00, up by 5.15 points or 0.89% from its previous closing of Rs 579.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 582.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs 591.55 and Rs 582.30 respectively. So far 149493 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 593.55 on 11-Jul-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 400.45 on 19-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 593.55 and Rs 569.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 138575.18 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 23.06% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.79% and 17.92% respectively.The country’s second largest private sector lender HDFC Bank has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2012.

The bank has registered a jump of 30.64% in its net profit at Rs 1417.39 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1084.98 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 34.36% at Rs 9536.91 crore for Q1FY13 as compared Rs 7098.00 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) improved too 0.97% in the April-June quarter as against 1.04% in the same quarter previous year while net NPAs remained unchanged at 0.2% Y-o-Y.
