Coal India’s sales to power sector increased by 13% on-year to 186.92 million tonne (MT) between April 1 and August 22, 2018. The mining activities typically pass through a low phase of production during the monsoon season with incessant rains hampering operations at open cast mines.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
