Idea Cellular’s Q1 consolidated net surges by 32%

Idea Cellular has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2012

On standalone basis, the company has posted a rise of 26.87% in its net profit at Rs 189.96 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 149.73 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 21.04% at Rs 5427.44 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4484.11 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

On consolidated basis, the company has posted a rise of 32.09% in its net profit at Rs 234.14 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 177.26 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 21.74% at Rs 5503.69 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4520.72 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level; it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
