-21.25 (-4.83%) Coal India is eyeing for production target of 700 million tonne in fiscal 2019-20 in a bid of rising power demand. The company had predicted an output of 630 million tonne for the current fiscal, but later revised it to 652 million tonne as an aspirational target. The company has already achieved an output of 567.4 million tonne in 2017-18, 32.6 million tonne short of its target.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
