Tata Power Company Ltd.

Tata Power has commissioned the second unit of 525 MW (Unit 2) of its Maithon mega power project in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. It has commissioned its first unit of 525 MW (Unit 1) in September 2011. The Maithon project, will also supply to power-deficit northern states, in addition to supplying power to Damodar Corporation. This project is a 74:26 joint venture between Tata Power and the Damodar Valley Corporation.

Tata Power is India's largest integrated private sector power utility with an installed generation capacity of 5297 MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), transmission, distribution and trading.
