Suzlon soars on concluding divestment of windfarm assets

Suzlon Energy is currently trading at Rs. 17.50, up by 0.25 points or 1.45% from its previous closing of Rs. 17.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 17.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 17.80 and Rs. 17.50 respectively. So far 738330 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 54.95 on 01-Aug-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 17.00 on 05-Jun-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 18.15 and Rs. 17.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3128.16 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.76% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 8.63% and 38.42% respectively. 

Suzlon Energy has successfully concluded the divestment of windfarm assets and has received the sale proceeds of approximately $40 million amounting Rs 200 crore in this regard.

Earlier in April this year, the world's fifth largest wind turbine maker, had sold of a block of wind assets for approximately $40 million. The windfarms are located across India, with a majority of the assets located in the state of Tamil Nadu. The transaction was scheduled to conclude by the middle of May, 2012 after completion of due diligence and requisite approvals.
