RIL inches up with arm investing in New Emerging World of Journalism

Reliance Industries (RIL) is currently trading at Rs. 1131.60, up by 4.10 points or 0.36% from its previous closing of Rs. 1127.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1132.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1135.00 and Rs. 1126.50 respectively. So far 32594 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1328.75 on 29-Aug-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 861.70 on 18-Dec-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1,135.00 and Rs. 1098.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 714672.85 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 47.27%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 36.32% and 16.41% respectively.

Reliance Industries’ (RIL) wholly owned subsidiary -- Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings (RIIHL) has invested in New Emerging World of Journalism (NEWJ). As initial tranche, RIIHL has subscribed to 30,000 Equity Shares and 125 Compulsory Convertible Debentures for total cash aggregating to Rs 1.03 crore and consequently NEWJ has become subsidiary of RIIHL and the Company.

NEWJ's business focus areas are production and curation of content for the emerging social and digital media ecosystem. Further, NEWJ will also be developing data enabled technology products which allow for integrated models of reporting and distribution.
