Farm loan worth Rs 1272.43 crore has been disbursed to the farmers in the state of Chhattisgarh by the government at a nominal rate of interest amounting to 1% per annum. Out of the disbursed loan amounting to Rs 1272.43 crore to the farmers, Rs 805.38 crore was given in cash while the balance of Rs 467.05 crore was disbursed in kind that included seeds, and fertilizer.
This disbursed amount of Rs 1272.43 crore is about Rs 358.43 crore more than the loan disbursed during the corresponding period last year. Also, this credit disbursement is about 75% of the target set by the state government for distributing loan in the current kharif session 2012-13. This year the state government had set a target of disbursing Rs 1700 crore agriculture loan. The loan disbursement under state government scheme started from April 01.
In the last kharif session 2011-12, state-run cooperative banks in the state had distributed short-term loans worth Rs 1227 crore at an interest rate of 3% per annum.
