Tata Communications’ Q1 net profit surges 21%

Tata Communications has reported unaudited results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The company’s net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 rose by 20.59% at Rs 47.79 crore as compared to Rs 39.63 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Its total income increased 7.63% at Rs 937.66 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 871.20 crore for the same quarter last year.

On consolidated basis, the Group has posted a net loss of Rs 218.23 crore as compared to a net loss of Rs 281.39 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010. Its total Income has increased by 13.58% at Rs 3294.33 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 2900.44 crore for the similar quarter of the previous year.
