Sun Pharmaceutical surges on plans to restructure its business

Sun Pharmaceutical is currently trading at Rs. 667.10, up by 7.05 points or 1.07% from its previous closing of Rs. 660.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 662.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 674.55 and Rs. 662.50 respectively. So far 34443 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 674.55 on 06-Aug-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 448.20 on 04-Oct-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 674.55 and Rs. 625.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 68985.29 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.72% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.73% and 10.55% respectively.

Sun Pharmaceutical is planning to restructure its business with effect from March 31, 2012. Board of directors of the company will meet later this week to consider the same.

The company’s net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 rose 88.31% to Rs 702.00 crore as compared to Rs 372.78 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. The total income has increased by 60.04% to Rs 1388.68 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 867.72 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
