NHPC zooms on reporting 47% surge in Q1 net profit

NHPC is currently trading at Rs. 25.25, up by 1.00 points or 4.12% from its previous closing of Rs. 24.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 24.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 25.60 and Rs. 24.25 respectively. So far 2388696 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 34.40 on 06-Oct-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 22.25 on 10-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 25.85 and Rs. 23.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29829.30 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 86.36% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 4.59% and 9.05% respectively. 

NHPC, state-run hydro power Generation Company, has reported results for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The Company’s net profit for the quarter grew by 47.19% at Rs 791.05 crore as compared to Rs 537.42 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Its total Income has increased by 45.85% at Rs 1798.39 crore from Rs 1233.02 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010.
