Chambal Fertilisers surges on reporting 21% rise in Q1 net profit

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals is currently trading at Rs. 73.45, up by 1.85 points or 2.58% from its previous closing of Rs. 71.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 72.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 74.70 and Rs. 71.65 respectively. So far 1082427 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 118.50 on 09-Sep-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 66.30 on 09-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 74.70 and Rs. 69.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3069.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.13% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.39% and 25.48% respectively.

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2012.

The company has reported a rise of 21% in its net profit at Rs 77.07 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 63.69 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income from operation of the company has increased by 16.86% at Rs 1381.91 crore for Q1FY13 as compared Rs 1182.57 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals is one of the largest private sector fertilizer producers in India. It has three divisions catering agri products, shipping & textiles.
