ONGC surges on the bourses

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 148.10, up by 4.05 points or 2.81% from its previous closing of Rs. 144.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 145.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 148.30 and Rs. 144.35 respectively. So far 578403 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 194.15 on 27-Feb-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 127.90 on 14-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 145.00 and Rs. 127.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 188712.72 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 65.64%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.69% and 13.67% respectively.

The Government will give Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) pricing and marketing freedom for yet to be developed discoveries and will charge less royalty for raising production from existing fields. The government has approved a new exploration policy that contains a slew of measures for boosting domestic production of oil and gas.

ONGC is India’s largest government-run corporation and produces about 70% of India’s crude oil and natural gas. The corporation is the biggest public sector commercial organization in India.
