ONGC falls despite registering 1.25% rise in output in FY19

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 156.85, down by 0.95 points or 0.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 157.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 157.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 158.30 and Rs. 156.50 respectively. So far 76648 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 191.85 on 15-May-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 127.90 on 14-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 160.15 and Rs. 156.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 197510.39 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 65.64%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.69% and 13.67% respectively.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has arrested a declining crude oil production trend in its onshore fields and registered a 1.25% rise in output in the fiscal year ended March 2019. ONGC produced 6.141 million tonnes of crude oil from its onshore fields despite majority of them being more than 50 years old and facing a natural decline.

ONGC is India’s largest government-run corporation and produces about 70% of India’s crude oil and natural gas. The corporation is the biggest public sector commercial organization in India.
