Hindalco Industries surges on selling business undertaking in Telangana

Hindalco Industries is currently trading at Rs. 200.30, up by 3.45 points or 1.75% from its previous closing of Rs. 196.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 197.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 200.50 and Rs. 196.70 respectively. So far 223018 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 259.70 on 04-Oct-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 182.55 on 15-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 208.20 and Rs. 196.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 44978.75 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.66%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.93% and 13.14% respectively.

Hindalco Industries has sold its business undertaking at Kollur, Telangana on slump sale basis to Mundhra Alufoil through a Business Transfer Agreement dated April 26, 2019. The Kollur plant is primarily in the business of manufacturing and sales of aluminum foils. However, the Kollur plant is not in operation since March 2016. This transaction will not have an impact on the financials of the company.

Hindalco Industries is an industry leader in aluminium and copper. The company’s aluminium units across the country encompass the entire gamut of operations from bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting to downstream rolling, extrusions, foils and alloy wheels, along with captive power plants and coal mines.
