Reliance Industries’ (RIL) telecom arm -- Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) has become the top mobile service provider in the Kolkata circle. Jio overtook the previous market leader Vodafone Idea. Jio had 90,03,329 connections in the month of May 2019 against 88,13,745 in the previous month of April.

Reliance Industries is India’s largest private sector company. The company’s activities span hydrocarbon exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail and 4G digital services.
