Bharti Airtel’s DTH service provider Airtel digital TV, has introduced an innovative Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) self care facility for its 7.4 million plus customers in India. With this initiative all Airtel Mobile customers can manage their airtel digital TV with options of recharge, movie booking and top up additions and lot more at free of cost.

Customers can avail this facility by simply dialing a toll free number *121# from their mobile phones.  The new service is device agnostic, in that, USSD is a menu-based system that enables interfacing with content based services. Instead of a browser, which re-quires an internet / GPRS connection), the USSD menu acts as browser to pull content to the phone.

Airtel digital TV launched iExam, an interactive test preparation service on TV in March this year, which targeted students appearing for various competitive exams and offers coaching modules, mock and practice tests.
