HCL Technologies edges higher as its arm picks up stake in Kalido

HCL Technologies is currently trading at Rs. 1089.05, up by 1.05 points or 0.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 1088.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1075.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1102.00 and Rs. 1075.00 respectively. So far 20690 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1190.00 on 30-Apr-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 920.15 on 11-Jan-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1102.00 and Rs. 997.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 149437.31 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.00%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 36.61% and 3.38% respectively.

HCL Technologies’ UK subsidiary has picked up minority stake in London-based Kalido. HCL Technologies UK will acquire 2.8 million shares of Om Mobile Ventures (that operates as Kalido), which would be about 6.64 per cent stake on a fully diluted basis. The cost of acquisition was USD 0.71 a share, aggregating to about USD 2 million (over Rs 14 crore).

This investment will provide the company an opportunity to expand network building capabilities and features to customers for the newly acquired IBM Connections as well as HCL's Digital Workplace solutions.
