M&M’s Auto Sector registers 25% fall in August sales

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has reported auto sales performance for August 2019 which stood at 36,085 vehicles, compared to 48,324 vehicles during August 2018, registering a fall of 25%. The company’s domestic sales touched 33,564 vehicles during August 2019, as against 45,373 vehicles in August 2018. The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 13,507 vehicles in August 2019.

In the Commercial Vehicles segment, the company sold 14,684 vehicles in August 2019, as against 20,326 vehicles in August 2018. In the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment, M&M sold 354 vehicles for the month. Exports for August 2019 stood at 2521 vehicles.

M&M is the flagship company of the Mahindra Group, a multinational conglomerate based in Mumbai, India. Amongst the various business interests of its parent group, the company is mainly involved in the automobile manufacturing. It is one of the leading auto companies of India.
