Titan Industries has introduced the country’s first touch screen watch under its Sonata brand. The new watch has distinct features such as water resistance, stop watch, multiple time display, day date display and alarm and it is priced at Rs 1,499.

The new technology was earlier considered to be exclusive to high-end watches but is now within the reach of the Indian consumer. Sonata has now become the largest selling watch brand with sales of seven million pieces a year. Earlier this year, Sonata launched the country’s most affordable watch at Rs 225.

Titan is India’s largest manufacturer of quartz watches and has a 60% market share in the Indian market. It is world’s sixth largest manufacturer of branded watches. It has a manufacturing & assembly unit at Hosur in Tamil Nadu.
