NTPC gains on the buzz of winning bid for Avantha Group's power plant in Madhya Pradesh

NTPC is currently trading at Rs. 120.45, up by 1.55 points or 1.30% from its previous closing of Rs. 118.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 118.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 121.25 and Rs. 118.90 respectively. So far 501477 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 145.85 on 01-Jul-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 106.75 on 13-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 122.10 and Rs. 116.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 119278.89 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.50%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 42.74% and 2.64% respectively.

NTPC has reportedly won the bid for Avantha Group's power plant in Madhya Pradesh, with a Rs 1,900 crore offer. The company’s bid was about two and-a-half times more than Adani Power’s offer of Rs 750 crore. This is the first time NTPC has bid for a stressed project.

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
