L&T rises as its arm bags order worth Rs 1,241 crore

L&T is currently trading at Rs. 1590.60, up by 28.80 points or 1.84% from its previous closing of Rs. 1561.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1565.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1604.00 and Rs. 1565.00 respectively. So far 2,12,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1616.00 on 24-Sep-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 971.00 on 21-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1616.00 and Rs. 1529.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 97,632 crore.

 The Institutions and Non-Institutions held 52.48% and 44.33% respectively.

Larsen and Toubro Construction (L&T Construction), the wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has won new orders valued over Rs 1,241 crore across various business segments in September 2012.

In the Buildings & Factories IC, the company has bagged new orders worth Rs 697 crore for the construction of residential towers, cement plants and factory structures across the country.

In the Railways Business sector, the company has won orders aggregating Rs 544 crore from Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL). The scope of work include Railway electrification works between Guntakal -Raichur -Wadi stations of South Central Railway and another order for railway construction, track work, signaling & telecommunication in Lucknow and Izatnagar divisions of North Eastern Railway.
