NTPC’s wholly-owned subsidiary -- NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam has signed an agreement with Department of Transport of Andaman and Nicobar Islands for deployment of 20 electric buses and setting up public charging infrastructure in the Union Territory (UT).

Under this project, the company is offering a complete transport solution, including twenty air-conditioned electric buses of nine metres each in phase 1 of the project. The deployment of electric buses is set to start on a commercial basis by August 2020.

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
