Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the $15.4 billion Mahindra Group, maintained its leadership position in the tractor industry in September 2012. The company’s total tractor sales (domestic + exports) in September 2012 stood at 20,085 units, down by 18.60% as against 24,673 units for the same period last year.

The company’s domestic tractor sales September 2012 stood at 18,908 units as against 23,508 units during September 2011, down by 19.57% however, exports for the month of September 2012 rose marginally by 1.03% to 1,177 units, as against 1,165 units in September 2011.

However it is noteworthy that September 2012 and September 2011 are not comparable as the festive season had started early in 2011.
