L&T surges as its construction arm bags order for Railway Strategic Business unit

Larsen & Toubro is currently trading at Rs. 850.00, up by 9.30 points or 1.11% from its previous closing of Rs. 840.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 842.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 868.90 and Rs. 835.30 respectively. So far 276048 shares were traded on the counter.

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) construction arm -- L&T construction Transportation Infrastructure IC in consortium with Kyosan Electric Manufacturing Co., Japan has bagged order for its Railway Strategic Business unit. The business has won a significant order in the form of 3 packages from the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL).

The Design and Build orders involve 2x25 KV Overhead Electrification, Signalling 0 Telecommunication and Associated works in the Dadri - Khurja and Sahnewal - Khurja sections of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC). The works are spread across 442 Route Kms and 638 Track Kms.
