Tata Power surges as its arm receives LoA to develop a 100 MW solar project in Maharashtra

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 43.65, up by 0.75 points or 1.75% from its previous closing of Rs. 42.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 43.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 43.75 and Rs. 42.85 respectively. So far 408872 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 74.05 on 03-Jul-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 27.00 on 12-May-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 43.85 and Rs. 40.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 11657.57 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 37.22%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 46.46% and 16.31% respectively.

Tata Power Company’s wholly owned subsidiary -- Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) has received Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (MSEDCL) to develop a 100 MW solar project in Maharashtra.

The energy will be supplied to MSEDCL under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), valid for a period of 25 years from scheduled commercial operation date. The Company has won this capacity in a bid announced by MSEDCL under Phase V dated December 2019. The project is required to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of execution of the PPA.
