Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility and a leading renewable energy company, is eyeing to import a total of 10 million tonnes (MT) of coal in the current fiscal out of which it has already imported 7 MT. The company is also eyeing for importing of around 50 MT of coal by 2020.
Besides, the company is also looking at acquiring coal mines in the US and Colombia apart from setting up of power plants in countries like Vietnam and Myanmar.
Tata Power has a strong portfolio of wind power comprising of 376.4 MW of installed wind generating capacity, which makes it one of the largest renewable players in India. The wind farms of the company are spread across four states, viz. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Karnataka.
