Tata Steel gains even after reporting consolidated net loss of Rs 4,374 crore in Q1

Tata Steel is currently trading at Rs. 414.10, up by 0.85 points or 0.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 413.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 408.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 421.00 and Rs. 408.80 respectively. So far 643872 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 505.95 on 14-Jan-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 250.90 on 30-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 427.50 and Rs. 399.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 49591.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.41%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.63% and 22.77% respectively.

The company has reported a fall of 22.46% in its net profit at Rs 1,193.27 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2020 as compared to Rs 1,538.99 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 41.85% at Rs 9,459.93 crore for Q1FY21 as compared Rs 16,269.16 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a net loss attributed to owner Rs 4,373.60 crore for the quarter under review against net profit of Rs 699.66 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 32.37% at Rs 24,481.09 crore for Q1FY21 as compared Rs 36,198.21 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
