Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), country’s leading sport utility vehicle (SUV) manufacturer, has unveiled its SUV -- Rexton -- the first vehicle from the stable of South Korean firm SsangYong, in which it bought a controlling stake in March 2011. The SUV is priced at Rs 17.67 lakh.

Rexton is the first high-end SUV under SsangYong banner to be manufactured at the M&M production facility in Chakan, near Pune. The vehicle was first unveiled at the Busan Motor Show in Korea, and is now on sale in 66 countries including Europe and Russia.

Recently, M&M had recorded booking of 5,000 units of compact sports utility vehicle ‘Quanto’ which was launched three weeks ago with an aim to target the prospective hatchback customers.
