-7.45 (-0.37%) Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa has launched its fourth generation (4G) broadband services in Pune. This is the third city after Kolkata and Bangalore where the 4G services have been introduced.
4G technology allows customers to access high speed broadband services. But the cost is on the higher side. The dongle for accessing 4G services on laptops and PCs is priced at Rs 4,999. In addition, there are monthly usage charges.
The entity is also planning to launch a mobile phone in the next few weeks that will be compatible to the new 4G network. But the network rollout by operators is being done in clusters and therefore not conducive for full mobility.
