7.10 (1.68%) Coal India’s coal allocation to the power sector under the special e-auction saw a 5.9 per cent rise to 17.96 million tonnes (MT) in the first eight months of the current financial year. Coal India had allocated 16.95 MT of coal during the April-November period of the previous financial year. However, coal allocation by the company under the scheme dropped significantly to 1.38 MT last month, over 4.05 MT in the corresponding month a year ago.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
