Gail (India) has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2012.
Gail (India) has reported a fall of 9.96% in its net profit at Rs 985.38 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 1094.41 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased by 18.16% to Rs 11629.71 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 9842.40 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.
The company is the largest natural gas transmission company in India, with interests in transmission, distribution, processing, and downstream petrochemicals. GAIL operates over 8,600 kilometres of natural gas pipeline, accounting for approximately 74% of all gas transmitted in India.
