-115.70 (-0.73%) Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest carmaker has reported 85.5% surge in total sales for October at 103108 units as against 55595 units in the same month last year. The domestic sales of the company during the month stood at 96002 units, up by 86.6% compared to 51458 units in October last year. Additionally, the company’s export also registered growth of 71.8% during the month which stood at 7106 units as compared to 4137 units in October last year.
The company’s popular compact sedan Dzire sales zoomed by 187.7% to 14389 units during the month against the corresponding month’s previous year figure of 5001 units. The company’s other best-selling model like Swift, along with Estilo and Ritz, together clocked sales of 22459 units in October this year, as against 10859 in the same period last year, up by whopping 106.8%.
Besides, sales of small cars, including the M800, Alto, A-Star and Wagon R, registered growth of 68.9% to 42233 units as against 25009 units in the same month last year. The sale of the mid-sized sedan SX4 rose by 117.2% to 695 units while the sales of its luxury sedan Kizashi stood at 35 units, way higher from 3 in the same month of the previous year, thereby registering a growth of 1066.7%.
