-4.15 (-1.21%) Tata Motors has registered a 6% growth in its total sales (including exports) at 71,771 vehicles for the month of October 2012.The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for the month of October rose by 7% at 68,145 vehicles as against 63,837 vehicles sold in the same month last year. However, the company's sales from exports at 3,626 vehicles in October 2012 were lower by 13%, compared to 4,171 vehicles, in October last year.
The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in October 2012 in the domestic market were 47026 vehicles, a 21% growth, compared to 38,713 vehicles, sold in October last year, while sales of passenger vehicles for the month under review coming at 21,119 vehicles, stood lower by 16%, over 25,124 vehicles, sold in the same period last year.
The company witnessed an encouraging response to the Tata Manza Club Class, now available across the country, and the Tata Safari Storme, now available in the NCR region, Chandigarh and Lucknow. Meanwhile, sales of the Tata Nano were 4,004 vehicles, higher by 4%, compared to 3,868 vehicles, sold in October, last year. The Indica range sales were 6,692 vehicles, lower by 38%, over 10,812 vehicles, sold in October last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 5,748 vehicles, lower by 8%, over 6,268 vehicles, sold in October last year. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales were 4,675 vehicles, higher by 12%, over 4176 vehicles, sold in October 2011.
