Coal India (CIL) has removed the restriction on exporting coal procured through two spot auctions. The development assumes significance as the current inventory of coal behemoth is little over 70 million tonnes (MT).

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
