HDFC Bank gains on planning to refund controversial 'GPS device commission' charged to auto loan borrowers

HDFC Bank is currently trading at Rs. 1477.35, up by 11.40 points or 0.78% from its previous closing of Rs. 1465.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1471.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1483.20 and Rs. 1455.15 respectively. So far 73666 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1650.00 on 24-Feb-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 972.25 on 18-Jun-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1496.25 and Rs. 1455.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 810821.45 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 25.97%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 61.02% and 13.01% respectively.

HDFC Bank is planning to refund the controversial 'GPS device commission' charged to auto loan borrowers for six years. The bank will refunding the GPS device commission to auto loan customers who availed of such device as a part of the auto loan funding during the period FY 2013-14 to FY 2019-20. The refund will be credited to the customer's repayment bank account as registered with the bank and asked customers to get in touch with it in the next 30 days.
