Larsen & Toubro Ltd.

Larsen & Toubro has bagged a $250 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Dolphin Energy, a United Arab Emirates-based company. As per the contract, L&T has to upgrade a gas plant in Qatar, for which it will install three new Rolls Royce Trent gas turbine compressors and related facilities at the processing plant at Ras Laffan. It aims to complete the project in the fourth quarter of 2014.

The company has posted a rise of 42.45% in its net profit at Rs 1137.31 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 798.39 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased by 16.95% to Rs 13,524.62 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 11,564.25 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.
