Date: 19-11-2012National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has declared commercial operation of Unit-5 of 500 MW of Rihand super thermal power station (STPS) with effect from November 19, 2012. With this the commercial capacity of Rihand STPS will reach 2500 MW and that of NTPC Group will be 37674 MW.
Recently, Aravali Power Company had commenced the operation of Unit-III of 500 MW of Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Station at Jhajjar with effect from November 07, 2012
NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
