16.25 (3.05%) JSW Energy has signed a contract with GE Renewable Energy, a leading provider of wind solutions, for supply of 810 MW of onshore wind turbines for the company’s under construction pipeline of 2.5 GW of renewable projects in India. The supply of the turbines will start by the second quarter of CY2022. These turbines will produce enough green energy to meet the annual electricity requirements of more than 2.1 million households in the country.
JSW Energy has set an ambitious target for 50% reduction in carbon footprint by 2030 and achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050 by transitioning towards renewable energy. The Company has set a target to reach 20 GW capacity by 2030, with share of renewable energy at 85%, up from 30% currently.
