Wipro trades higher on the bourses

Wipro is currently trading at Rs. 370.60, up by 3.85 points or 1.05% from its previous closing of Rs. 366.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 369.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 372.35 and Rs. 366.05 respectively. So far 61,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 452.50 on 17-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 325.60 on 30-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 372.35 and Rs. 355.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 91,247 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.31% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 10.04% and 9.93% respectively.

Wipro has notched the top place in the Green peace’s Guide to Greener Electronics list in its maiden appearance. The software major has surpassed global giants such as Apple, Samsung, Dell and Nokia among others. Based on the commitment and progress in three environment criteria - energy and climate, greener products and sustainable operations, Wipro has topped the list of 16 electronic companies across the world.

Due to the company’s effort to embrace renewable energy and advocacy for greener energy policies in India has led the company scoring most of the points.

Besides, as per the 18th version of Green peace’s Guide report, Wipro has also scored well for post-consumer e-waste collection for recycling and for phasing out hazardous substances from its products.
