Maruti Suzuki reports 24% fall in October sales

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has reported a 24.17 percent decrease in sales at 138,335 units in October 2021 as compared to 182,448 units in October 2020. Domestic sales decreased by 32 percent at 117,013 units last month as against 172,862 units in October 2020. Sales of mini cars comprising Alto and WagonR stood at 21,831 units as compared to 28,462 units in the same month last year.

Sales of compact segment, including models such as Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, and Dzire, rose to 48,690 units as against 95,067 cars in October last year. Mid-sized sedan Ciaz sold 1,069 units as compared to 1,422 units earlier. Sales of utility vehicles, including Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, and Ertiga, stood at 27,081 units last month as compared to 25,396 in the year-ago month. Exports in October were up at 21,322 units as against 9,586 units in the corresponding month last year.
